Reminisce in beauty.

The flowers are growing faster today
I see the stems,
I see them reaching toward you,
I see them lifting up
I never knew, they could grow so tall

In the fields they show up more frequently,
Between the sharp blades of grass,
That flow softly in the breeze

That old tire wheels sways in the wind too
I saw him balancing on it yesterday
I know you wanted to do the same when he was through

Pig tails and blue jean overalls
After tending to your daily chores,
You knew it was time to be free

Thanks Liane for bringing back some long forgotten but wonderful memories of my aunt and uncle’s farm house in Mid-Michigan when I was a kid…

I realy liked your poem. It reminds me of myself growing up. We had a swing in a cotton wood tree, and in the summer the flowers were a purple canopy.

I can picture the tire swing. Just lovely imagery.
    Great job.

What a time for a daydream! A time machine to a pleasant past or a dreamy place in memory lane where are recounted some of the pleasant moments in childhood innocence where it was found easier to partake the simple joys of summer youth, after the chores, of course, you are free to be. We had a big fat rope that was used to swing from a high riverbank to the river below, near our house, my, my, was that some fun. You’ve tickled my pleasant past with yours, how quaint, how wonderful to remember this! You amaze me, Liane. Thanx for sharing
