A tribute to two great poets.

Could I describe a feeling which has no words other than simple

sounds of simple cavemen in simple times that never

existed for those who refuse to believe that we were once

fish swimming in the deep blue sea.

And could I describe a state of mind which cannon be devised into

complex sentences built on conjunctions and compound

thoughts which itself were built by English majors

living out of cardboard suitcases eating goldfish.

But However I describe the feelings you make me feel with

words spoken and often repeated and sentences often

bunch in complex thoughts where repeated fall into

breathing categories of poetry as big as the deep blue sea.

But Repeated or not these words strike hearts and my heart is

no exception when you consider that I am not as great as

the poets of great or even the ones we love to hate

who never would think of erasing the complex words that they say.

And whether or not you would like to think that I grew up in words

All wet with repetition or words all wet with salt water from

The sea that is your wide variety of words I would like to think

your lack of vocabulary is the stutter of a boy close to pubescence.

And yet you inspire a boy of decent age like me to take up the art of ones

of old and mix it with the typewriting philosophy of “Never Erase”

so that possibly I would leave in words that I never would have kept before

and noone would ever want to read anyway.

So thanks anyways fair chaps for your contribution to this art that I have

taken as my own personal passion and my own personal art form that

by your works and by your howls and by your other forgettable and yet not

works I might become a better poet because of you.

One doesn’t have to use big words to be an excellent poet. The ones who try to hard to use those words end up with a poem that noone can understand. I love the way you wrote this, just letting the words flow without stopping to think about it, I have done this and it turns out awesome. I love Kerouak but the closest I’ve seen to a poem from him was from his book of sketches. Maybe I’ve missed one? I love the way his imagery sticks with you long after you stop reading. It is simple yet brilliant. Another great ‘old’ poet is E.E. Cummings, one of my favorites. Used the placement of the words to create a visual message.
