If you’ve been through the same things I’ve been through, then you’ve walked in my shoes.

A Walk in my shoes

If you’ve been down lonely roads, and paths of dark despair,
If you’ve turned the only corner, to find what’s best and fair,
If you’ve reached a point of breaking, with a heart so full of pain.
If you’ve gone the wrong direction, but found your way again,

If you’ve climbed the highest mountain against boulders, rock and stone
If you’ve wandered in a wilderness, when you were all alone,
If you’ve stepped on shaky bridges and walked on sandy shores,
If you’ve searched the open windows, and knocked on all the doors,

If you’ve walked in silent suffering, with no one by your side,
If you’ve turned your back on riches, to push away the pride,
If you’ve smiled a smile of friendliness to someone with a frown,
If you’ve given a hand to help someone with no one else around.

If you’ve ran a mile to the ocean, to watch the foaming waves,
If you’ve sat on the bank of fears, trying to be brave,
If you’ve sang a song of sympathy, to a sad and broken heart,
If you’ve laughed in the face of adversity, to make a brand new start,

If you’ve given love to someone, and they gave nothing in return,
If you’ve read the book of charity, with so much left to learn
If you’ve spoken inspiration, with hope given from your core
If you’ve driven away the dark clouds, but they returned once more,

If you’ve played under the waterfall, and drank from fountain’s bowl,
If you’ve nothing to show the world, but what you’ve given from your soul.
If you’ve come inside from the rain, with no more tears to cry,
If you’ve seen the dark clouds vanish, then a rainbow in the sky,

If you’ve looked into the sands of time, to see the changing earth,
If you’ve said a prayer of thankfulness, for the moment of your birth.
If you’ve looked into the starry night to see a falling star,
If you’ve accepted who you’re born to be, and exactly who you are.

If you’ve noticed the beautiful sunshine, beaming it’s glorious brightness
If you’ve seen the moon in it’s beauty, shine down to light the darkness,
If you’ve worn the face of peace, there’s nothing else to choose.
If you’ve walked toward the face of light, then you’ve walked in my shoes.

I thought this was really well done. The whole idea and the format how you presented this. Not bad, not bad at all!

    Thumbs up!
