If this is vacation, why am I so tired?

Image via Wikipedia

Vacation time and I remember
That “vacation” for a woman
Just means a change of work
From January through December.

My back does hurt…
My feet are tired,
But I stop to recall
I like this kind of work.

I cut and sliced a melon
So my grand-girl would say “Yum!”
I rummaged out a drawer finding stuff
Like a modern day Magellan.

I fed and watered every pet
Scratched ears and petted noses
Cooked a meal instead of heating
How much better can you get?

I learned to play a song,
I read a book and napped
I looked up at the clock
And wondered where time had gone.

Vacation time and I remember
I like to do my favorite work
I’d love to have this job
From January to December.

I have often told my husband I could stay home and be a housewife. I like that kind of work.

I do everything that you mentioned January through December except for feeding the pet as I don’t have one.

It is always great to return to the basics of life – who were those women who fought for our right to get into the work place!

I know that feeling well. A woman’s work is never done. A good poem.

A woman’s work is never done. It’s more like pulling two shifts. I’m a bachelor and even I know that.
