It was a wet and rainy night, it was a terrible accident.

His heart beat loudly
And yet it beat slow
The blood all around him was his
And yet he did not know
The sound of crunching metal
Had echoed in his head
A young driver that night
Was almost certainly dead
The rain had made the roads
So slick and smooth like ice
What had happened because of it
Was not at all so nice
A crowd was quickly gathering
Around these two cars
One driver would live on
Bearing only scars
Now let us get back
To this boy’s beating heart
It had slowed even more
No longer to stop and start
He looked around and realized
He was not alone inside the car
There was a bleeding body
Laying not very far
He recognized the face
He recognized the hair
He could not believe his eyes
He could not help but stare
For this bleeding body
Was his very own
He knew that he was dying
For it was so clearly shown
The tears ran down his cheeks
That was not really there
A scream escaped his throat
Declaring how this was unfair
There was nobody to help him
As he took his final breath
Then the terrifying shudder
The calming cold of death
He never got the chance
To hand out his farewell
Now he is slowly fading
This story he’ll never tell
A young driver, only seventeen
Had died this rainy night
The injuries so severe
He lost the final fight
His mother will be weeping
His dad will shake his head
They will not understand
How their baby could be dead
A cross will mark the spot
Where his heart had beat its last
When people gaze upon it
They will say life can end so fast
So be careful the way you live it
Who knows when it could end
Take the time to see your family
And be the greatest friend
This was his final chapter
He had so much to do
So now here is his story
I have given it to you
