This poem is dedicated to Aaliyah Dana Haughton (RIP)

Aaliyah, our shining star
how your light sparkled and lit our tv screens
your music made us dance, and smile
but, your so soon passing brought tears -
bitter tears shed for a life taken too soon.

Much respect from all of us to you
for you accomplished much more than other youth
Baby Girl, your journey here is at an end
for heaven and angels are around the bend.

So Aaliyah, we will shed tears for you,
has we bid you farewell- praying, but rejoicing
knowing that Heaven is far better than the
Earth removed.

God will guide your steps Shining Star
as you boldly journey into the light.
