A young girl with cancer and her plight…
The little face wreathed in smiles of innocence
Eyes twinkling with stars of mischief bareless restrained
By the stern parental warning gaze of admonition
Cheeks are like bloomng roses in candy floss shades
Dreams of fairies soaring on butterfly wings
Of entering the wonderland traversed by Alice
Planning to find the leprachaun’s elusive pot of gold to buy chocolates
And thinking of wishes to ask of the genie when the Magic lamp was found
Telling tall tales with deceptive innocence and earnest air
Playing make believe games with barbies and kens
Architects of sand castles, tiny gritty hands
She still sojourn in the world of fluorescent daydreams
But life still in the vicinity of the cradle left of recent
With suppossedly years of life spread as velvet carpet afore
Her limbs still meandering in the magical world of childhood
Still sipping soda and weeping for chocolates and begging icecreams
Still dreading school with its piles of homework
THe merry-go- round of life has suddenly slowed down midway
As if the swing has stopped in the air in abeyance
Tentacles of merciless death like the fangs of a venus fly trap
Appear out of no where shattering the mirrage of life
As she slowly striuggles through crawling days of pain
With tears rolling down in silence, sobs long stiffled
As she prays for end of life
Of excruciating pain, before her weeping grandma
With wizened old face and a longer life ahead….
