This poem describes a situation that happen in college when a I felt I was being challenged to a popularity contest. The guy wanted more attention from the school, his friends or whatever the reason and made up stories to make it happen.

About to expose those who oppose what I stand for.
about to propose we engage in a unspoken word war.
no treaty!
no graffiti! Or propaganda!
no mercy!
you are not a worthy opponent
this moment
I own it!
stand bare in the street
no weapons
just spoken word
I heard the rumors
you spoke about me
so you doubt me
but fearing being around me
but speak so loudly
it astounds me
that you’re afraid
these days or numbered and I have your number
makes you wonder
if you’ve bitten off more than you can chew
teach your yourself
watch how you speak to self
you will lose
I will make you
beat yourself
