We must all understand, in no uncertain terms, that the air we breathe continues to be contaminated, to the extent that, in the not-too-distant future, we may regret our actions of abuse against Nature that, until now, has tolerated our indifference to the benefits that it so liberally provides.
They have no moral right
to fill the air
Withpoisons that might soon
destroy us all –
Abusers ofsweet Nature
willing to dare
Heed not the exigency
of its clarioncall
To leave theshorelines,
wilds secure,
Oceans free;
clear the atmosphere
Of substances of death;
render pure
What Nature has intended
to be dear
To man and beast alike.
Life is sustained
Not by the exercise
of selfish will,
Norby greed,
nor monetary gain,
But bylove for Nature
that instills
Infusions of new hope
for us on Earth.
Tomorrow’s incubus
shall not prevail,
If now we cease abusing
Nature’s worth,
In whose embrace how can
we ever fail!
