A reflective poem on Gods love and invitation to us…

Arms outstretched to bring you in,
Like a story unfolding, about to begin,
Fingers flicking through the pages,
Chronicling the various stages.

Some make you laugh, some make you cry,
Some make you ponder – why do we try?
Seeking the answers is what we strive for,
But a prayerful relationship is what you adore.

To hold us close and love us strong,
To battle alone, is lonely and wrong.
If we just had the courage to reach out and say,
Lord help me, I’m broken – I’ll do it your way.

I need you Lord, my one true Saviour,
To soften my heart and change my behaviour.
I cannot get my head around,
The wreck in me you think you’ve found.

I’m so unworthy of your love,
The majestic king sent from heaven above.
I’m scared to let go, but scared to stand still,
Desperate and frightened to climb the tall hill.

The view from above, the air is so pure,
Looking down to below, the smell from the sewer.
The brightness and colour, so crisp and so sharp,
The darkness below, so empty and stark.

The voices inside you drag you back down,
The music from above from angels with crowns.
Who want you to take that step up the hill,
And the Holy Spirit awaits to fill.

Your heart, body and mind belong to the Lord,
So why sitting here do I feel such a fraud?
So frightened to trust, give my life to the King,
Despite treasures I’m told I’d be blessed with to bring.

I’m outside the door, frightened to enter,
To accept the Lord, at my heart and centre,
Forgiveness and trust, I know I do lack,
Once over the hurdle – I wouldn’t look back.

A plan for my future, new chapter begins,
Heavens blessings you send, turn away from worlds sins.
So, Lord I pray for your help and guidance
To end my pain, triggered from subsidence.
