Poetry, about first time, uncertainty, and acceptance.
‘ a sense of understanding wrapped in a shroud of terror,
“Maybe i wasn’t as ready as i thought i was” she thinks, wracked with another cold tremor,
Everything has gone dark, hes taken her very light in one quick embrace,
Regret spills over the edge, pooling under her eyes, the truth written across her face,
Its too late to take it all back, she know its true,
She looks at herself, but can only blame you,
Nothing is left inside of her or at least that’s the way it seems,
the gift has been taken, no everlasting treasure, just crushed dreams,
But then you lift her chin, and kiss her lips, and tell her that she’s fine,
you kiss the tears pooled under her eyes, and promise, “that every things alright”
And when she looks at you doubt written in her eyes,
you smile softly, and tell her to shush her cries,
Another quick kiss against her lips, and you crush her to your side,
Arms wrapped around her tightly, the fear melts from her eyes,
“You gave me something wonderful, something no one else can ever say they had”
that’s what you whisper in her ear, and it makes her a little less sad,
“I really did give you something, maybe more then i knew i could give,
But in the end, i need to know if it was all really worth it”
You laugh slightly, pulling her in tighter then before,
”this, right here just makes me want you more”
She pulls away unsure of what you meant, fear forming once again in her eyes,
you laugh again, and tell her “its alright”
“i want your smile, i want your laughter, i want your unavoidable insecurity that drives me absolutely insane”
that’s the last thing you said, and it was all you had to say,
She melted in your arms, regret, and terror all washed away,
And now a smile fills her eyes, and is written all across her face,
