This poem will tell the tale, am full of sorrow as I write, my brothers are mailing their lives and jewels to death and agony all in search of greener pastures. REMEMBER… [ any one shooting at the sky is merely wasting his bullets].
My brothers are dinning in death
striking bad deals with angels of woe
even our benevolent earth
sees not the carcasses of the dead
They hurriedly cross the seas
leaving sorrow behind as the flee
Daily they drawn in strange seas
all in search of better life
BUT
claws of death
swift killers
parasitic nightmares
ambush them in the Niger deserts
and scatter their bleached bones
all over the burning sands of the sahara
My brothers are living in death
casting their souls and jewels to hell
mailing their flesh and beauty to misery
Rivers of Europe reaping where they did
not sow
monsters of the deep making merry
with the skins of my hardworking brothers
and if they escape the jaws of the abyss
the ferocious claws of vulture
await them in the dry forsaken lands….
Oh poverty
the betrayer and cracker of innocense
the silent killer
the crippler of dreams
and coverer of sunshine and glory
oh poverty
when shall thou die
that tears in the eyes of my brothers
will dry
Yesterday was from Libya to Spain
many died, others dwelt in pain
yet tomorrow may be Kuwait
no matter where, I plead death to wait
BROTHERS
the siblings of my father
are overseas always better?
look around, stop making your souls bitter
search our mother land, you will see food
browse the forests, you will find something good
Don’t forget
THE WHITE ALSO CRY
some pastures there are green
but some paths to them are not clean
Beautiful brothers
my lovely sisters
the children of my ancestors
stop spinning gold from straw
stop making water lodge in your teeth
stop shooting at the sky
it is a mere waste of bullets
Africa is full of grace
a land flowing with milk and honey
so take your touch and find the gold
it is beneath your feet.
