The showers that nourish the good earth stir everything in Nature to perform adequately, so that things that are otherwise dormant are once again activated, restoring a sense of wellbeing to all creatures, and giving birth to natural growth agriculturally and esthetically.
There’s a scent
of freshness after rain,
With birds winging
joyfully again!
Fertility from clouds
high up above,
Stirs the air
once again with love;
Fields of grass
shivering in the breeze;
Drooping leaves
rustling in the trees;
Distant hills
visibly so clear –
Sights that we
in Nature must endear;
Flowers wild
perked up everywhere;
Smells of blossoms
in the quickened air;
Rivers swell as if
with instant pleasure;
Harvests garnered
richly in good measure;
A sense of usefulness
in places where
There seems to be
not much of loving care;
Assertiveness of Nature
amply giving
Assurances of
every creature living,
Until the sun must
surely rise again
In hot pursuit
of the retreating rain.
