Our greed unfortunately, has taken us down. We are even worse than the animals and birds, when it comes to upbringing our children and securing their future….This poem is a tribute to the birds, who are far better than the humans in securing the future of their off springs/..
The morning was perfect,
With rush of northerly breeze,
Playing with the wild roses and the daffodils,
Birds are chirping for their flight set;
Sun dwells in the sky with patches of clouds,
Not knowing whether to shower or to drought
The rays look upon thou faces with distrust,
Can humans plan to destroy their own mastery?
Just for their egos, arrogance and boastful menaces.
In the midst of nowhere, a wild flower blossoms in the desert;
Radiating its smile with wide open petals,
Spreading its love and fragrance,
In a moment that was supposed for the morning,
Ushers in its customary bliss before the sun set;
The morning dew less the grass
Befalls its grace in the shadow of cactus;
Opens its arms wide open,
Embraces the afternoon breeze as if it were the morning bliss
Kneels down in solitude and kisses the ground,
As the petals fall from the flower and covers the ground.
The pigeons fly pass by, flapping their wings,
To gather straws, and zoom down for building a nest
And lay their eggs and hatch their future generations;
With the future so uncertain, protects their eggs with their chest,
Collects food to secure their future desires and for their new born;
We humans can take some examples from the birds,
Shun thy greed and settle for less,
What the birds can do for their children
We should restrain ourselves in austerity measures,
And make way for others to live in surplus.
