An original poem by Aubrey Lambach.

I feel the world parading around an empty, open sphere.

I look around and catch your eyes.

They’re glistening and glowing,

Offering me hope,

A hope I never knew I wanted,

A need my heart never spoke.

But I see now

How wrong I was,

And now the truth is near.

For beautifully and tenderly,

Something called me here.

Colored sand flows downward,

Filling that empty globe.

But do you realize

That each grain

Is beckoning to you?

Approach the glass,

Touch it,

Peer at your distorted reflection.

I am waiting.

Waiting for you to acquiesce.

Waiting for you to notice.

When I caught your eyes,

I kept them.

And I will never give them back.

For their light fell across my horizon,

You are the world I never knew.
