Poem – tale of infidelity–two wrongs don’t make a right, but…

There’s the phone–he’s working late again tonight.
Don’t hold supper.  He’ll hit Wendy’s for a bite.
He must think she’s foolish to buy all this overtime.
His paycheck doesn’t indicate a single extra dime.

Three times this month already the boss has kept him late.
Yeah, right.  He thinks she don’t know he’s out on a date.
Tonight she’s gonna do a little checking on her man
And see if she can catch him working overtime with Ann.

She drove by the factory–the parking lot was bare.
She turned left on Main Street and headed for the square.
Sure enough as plain as day she spots his Chevrolet
In front of Daisy’s Tavern where cheaters come to play.

She kept on going ’round the square and headed back to home
And started thinking of the ways to teach him not to roam.
What’s good for the goose is good for the gander.  She’d get even.
She picked up the phone.  When he answered she cooed, “Hello Steven.”

pay him back ,in the con he deserves,

i knows some lady bosses want
    overtime with guys they like,

    at their convenience ,

but that does show in the monthly pay packet too.

    the wife remains silent,

    more money coming in,

and she knows the safer timings too,

    so she also woos.

    lifes like that

Two wrongs definitely doesn’t make it right ~ but at the time revenge can be so sweet

Your poem is fun and biting at the same time. Very well done for the two to combine so nicely.

Two wrongs may not make it right, but the second can sure make it even.
