We wait to be discovered.

Lying here in this bed next to you
Mending wounds where you feel you’ve come unglued
Look at me with those sighing eyes
Your sorrowed words come as no surprise
Breathe you in, taste your fears
Your bleeding heart brings me to tears
Break me down and make me cry
Losing drive to construct an alibi
Not you, but a marionette dances in your stead
Governed by the little boy hiding in your head
Weep as we may, try as we must
We act out of love with minimal lust
They’re all going to disapprove
Of the many things I’d like to do with you

What beauty in this poem! I especially like:
Losing drive to construct an alibi
Not you, but a marionette dances in your stead
Governed by the little boy hiding in your head
Weep as we may, try as we must…

    Wonderfully written!
