What happens after faerie stories end?
Because I found that rabbit hole
I’m not allowed outdoors
I’m watched when I am sleeping
With great interest in my snores
My dreams are spliced and analysed
My future peeked and prophesised
And life’s unpleasant on the whole
Because I found that rabbit hole
Because I found that rabbit hole
The hedge is watched, suspected
Of animation far beyond its means
And misdirected
Eyes are focused on our roses
Who, not of their own accord
Have suffered undue scrutiny
For simple bloom and board
The garden’s steeped in martial law
Because I shook that rabbit’s paw
Because I found that rabbit hole
My tea parties are raided
With such a regularity
My china dolls are jaded
And is it just due diligence
Or someone’s mad caprice
That has our caterpillars
Tested daily for hashish
My toy chest’s seething with unrest
Because I found that rabbit’s nest
Because I found that rabbit hole
There’s talk of impropriety
And question of my sanity
Ill temper and sobriety
I’m blamed for what the cook has stole
It’s claimed I’ve wed the neighbor’s mole
Divined a drunk at ten years old
Because of that fekked rabbit hole
