Short Poem.
Its awful dark out tonight,
and I hate driving on this road,
where every turn is a reminder
of who I used to be
and what I used to have.
Life just won’t
let up, and there are no detours
to ease this pain,
except for dreaming,
and even those are tainted
with hope that
no longer exists.
I love the moon,
but she’s nowhere in sight,
and my headlights seem
more dim than usual tonight.
Did you take all
my light with you
when you left?
I can’t see a thing.
