A poem that describes the supreme dedication completed by two men.

What would you do?
Could you lay it all on the line, and be true?
If you had to to fight,
All day and night,
Would you give up your life,
To gain the victory, and end all the strife?

Each and every day,
We pray for strength as we go our way,
Living like it all will last forever,
Yet our enemy is so very clever!
He will attack us when there’s little light,
Wanting to catch us doing something not right.

How will it all end you say,
We will live to see the light of the next day?
I don’t know for sure,
With such an enemy with great strength, and such allure.
Can it be that we will all die?
It’s possible, but we still must try!
Doing our very best,
yet leaving the results to God, who gives us rest.

We did what was our duty to do,
Right now there’s only me and you.
My strength is nearly gone,
I don’t know if I am able to go on.
No matter what I won’t quit on you,
My dedication is true.
Where there once was there will be,
Eternity now waits for both you and me.

I dedicate this to my son. Also to all those who faced combat whether in life or on the battlefield. May God bless us all.
