All That Glitters is Not Gold

This truly makes me sad!!

Look at me

My golden years are a lot of things

But, golden is not one of them

They have chipped away at my benefits

They have chopped up my prescription drug plan

All my years of planning a dream, are now on hold, yet again

The gold has been sucked from my glitter

Time, and waiting for change is not on my side

I waited so long for those golden years

Only to find out, all that glitters is not gold

How incredibly sad and true, Shirley. There are people I love and care about going through this and it’s just heartbreaking. I try to help… Sometimes careful planning isn’t enough.

Shirley, I agree, retirement isn’t all it’s cracked up to be. Hold onto that pay check as long as possible.

It is sad to see people who have worked all their lives and contributed end up with so little. Retirement can be the best of times if you can pursue your interests, but sadly it doesn’t always work out that way.

Yes, I think that nowadays we have to try and achieve our dreams whilst we are still earning, difficult though it is to find the time to do it.
