This is an article about indecent deprivation to Iqbal for Nobel Prize.
Great poet and thinker of Pakistan, Allama Iqbal, and renown Bengali poet, Rabindranath Tagore, were great poets of their era, who aroused to success at the same time and at the same time they stepped into the politics, it was early of 20th century and it is also an interesting fact about them that they could never meet each other all their life.
The fans of “Poet of the East” Iqbal have always felt sad about the first Nobel Prize to India which was given to Tagore rather than Iqbal. This “ignorance” could be repented in later days if Iqbal would have been given the prize. But from 1913 to 1938, he was never considered for the award by the committee of Nobel Award.
Since the documents of Nobel committee are kept secret until 50 years so it was a hidden secret until 1963. It was widely considered to be a conspiracy against Iqbal at that time that why was he deprived of the dream award despite his acknowledged greatness?
It was 1963 when the documents of Nobel Award committee appeared publicly. It was then exposed that Iqbal was even not considered to be discussed by the committee. But the question remains unsolved that if Bengali poet Rabindranath was considered by the committee then why Iqbal was not? The documents does not lead to a conclusion to this answer.
