Weekend recreation for a day laborer.

Working in the mangroves all week long
Trying to pass time by singing a song.
Sun’s beating down like a red fireball.
Sweat’s pouring down like a waterfall.

Trying to make a living selling crayfish tails–
Work hard six days just to fill ten pails.
Skeeters are a-swarming but it’s alright.
Dreaming of an Alligator Saturday night.

It’s what makes working all week worthwhile.
Just thinking about it makes me want to smile.
Pretty girls a-dancing–what an awesome sight.
Just another Alligator Saturday night.

Go out to the campfire–drink some run and cokes.
Get a little frisky–tell some dirty jokes.
Maybe get a city girl about half tight.
Make memr’ies on an Alligator Saturday night.

A banjo and a fiddle make the music ring
And maybe Judy Adams will get up and sing.
Judy’s face is pretty but her singing’s not.
Another gator gettogether pretty well shot.

If you ever come to visit our sunshine state
Don’t let the famous tourist traps become your fate.
Just check out the mangrove swamp kinda out of sight
And join us for an Alligator Saturday night.

I agree it is very creative. We are going dancing on Sat night but I hope we don’t see any alligators. I really enjoyed reading this.
