Although I know it’s not my best work, I’ve always favored this poem.
It allures me like a moth to the flame;
Pernicious is the fire for the frail insect
And in my case, the degree of danger is the same.
Forewarned many times of the torture caused
I stand intrepid upon the verge,
Oblivious to what I had once lost.
As infantile as my sanguine nature is,
My mind presents its rancor towards my actions
By reminding me of times lost as my body persists.
