Cherries are delicious.
Wandering the early morning market
we spied ripe, red cherries,
tumbled together in a cardboard box,
finally at an affordable price.
At home our carefully chosen
delicious summer time treasures
tumbled carefree onto a plate,
delicious temptation.
Left alone in the house
for less than an hour,
my weakness demanded
more than one small taste.
Delicious ripe red cherries,
slowly disappearing,
leaving you just a few
and my embarrassed apology.

Author picture of the cherries left for my husband. Hopefully they’ll still be there when he returns.
