Should I be picking apples from the orchard or keeping my eye on the most delicious Apple of them all? This poem was written by: E.B. Wilkes. Please read, like and leave a favorable comment!

As we pick Red Delicious Apples

from the orchard tended trees

I can see…

her silk soft hair blowing so’ gentle

in the coolness of the Autumn Breeze.

As she bends to fill her basket…

I notice her pickings are better than mine;

I guess it is because I had my eye on her

most of the time.

Suddenly…she turns to me

with a glare from her eyes of green.

I can’t help but notice how the beauty in her eyes do gleam!

With the biggest smile she declares…”The apples are for the picking”

Then she asks…Why from your basket are so’ many apples missing?

My mind races for an answer to disguise the fact

that my thoughts were racing over the simple fact

that she is the one true Apple of My Eye…

but I think she is on to me…

If this is so, she must already know of the fantasy in her

that I have seen.

However, I wonder if she knows

that she is the main Apple of My Eye?

I wonder if I should tell her the reason why

my basket is almost empty

while hers is full?

Even though I’m sure she already knows

I think, I should just let the truth flow

Here it goes…Well, I lost my attention on

a fruit more delicious

and more pleasing to my eye.

I may have lost my attention, but

my eyes stayed focused

and as soon as we get home

I’m gonna try a little Hocus-Pocus

to try to get a tatse of that delicious fruit I noticed.

I just can’t wait to taste your sweet American pie!!!
