You towered over me
Like an African King
Your actions and presence
Made me visualize an African scene

A ceremony
On a moon-less night
In an open field
Fires blazing bright

Music and voices
A drummer’s beat
Dancers performing
With tireless bare feet

A celebration
Has begun
The union of two
Emerging as one

Away from the campsite
In a distant breeze
Out in the shadows
Under African trees

Is an African King
Holding my hands
On bent knees
My clothes he disbands

He closes his eyes
As if to pray
Then ever so gently
Carries me away

To the top of a mountain
To the bottom of the sea
To a paradise land
To ecstasy

Lost in your love
I will forever be
Visualizing such scenes
Of You and Me
