Your flame haired beauty, your soulful eyes
Abusive talented, you loved you despised
Your motion picture about to explode
You joined the elite down destruction road
The mystery the power two decades on
Tormented genius, stage presence, poet and song
Riding the storm wind and rain
Destructive, brilliant alcohol brain
Beauty personified, animal power
Tell me what happened in that fateful hour?
You lit the fire it hasn’t gone out
Rebel against authority; let it hang out
Take the risk, chase the thrill
Inject the high, drop the pill
Twist and turn writhe on stage
Memorized crowd – violent rage
Ready to venture the other side
Experimentation fulfilling the ride
Unlocking doors seeking to find
Searching the depths – creative mind
The ceremony about to begin
So long since you shed the lizard skin
The legend cult figure, some were not born
Your prophesy, memory, left to adorn
Do you still tread the unlimited ground?
Lyrical actor you left them spellbound
No one to replace you since those halcyon days
Christ-like image eyes just a glaze
Self-destruct icon mystic belief
Disciples left mourning musical grief
Sexual energy, burning desire
Out of reach to somewhere higher
You’ve now broken through always the aim
Was it worth it out of mind pain?
She followed you, she was the one
Frightening trend live fast die young
Vivid expression, tripping the high
The end was the beginning through your acid eye
Always on the edge unbalanced act
Inevitable answer; suicide pact
The fire burns again image restored
So long now since you were adored
Still they try to unravel your complex mind
If they dared the other side, they might find
That they’ve gone too far they can’t handle the scene
They have not touched the depths, the highs you have been
So your mystery remains now you have gone
Tormented genius, stage presence poet and song
