A very lofty introduction I once wrote to a longer work, but still one of my favorite pieces.

Suppose we conducted an experiment on the world, you and I. Suppose we wanted to test the validity of the assertions of all those ancient wise men who were so sure they knew why we’re here and why we don’t know why we’re here. Suppose, just for a moment, that we knew for sure what the answer was. Suppose the answer was to find the answer. Suppose…

Suppose you were God- hypothetically, of course. What were you thinking? It must have been fun, defining reality, unbound by forever and never. Was it irresponsible of you? Were you just rebelling against nothing? Are we still supposed to call you God, then?

Suppose you and I fell into Wonderland. Suppose we caught the rabbit and cut off his head. Suppose I told your fortune with a deck of soldiers. Suppose we changed the rules. Suppose we knew the rules.

Suppose the world ended just at the horizon. Suppose we didn’t have to listen to the fighting and the crying downstairs, or worry about yesterday or tomorrow, or feel the cold chipping away at us, shaking our bones. Suppose, if we wanted, we could just walk off the edge and fall forever…

If this is just a lofty introduction, then I would really like to see the whole article. I could read long pieces on deep thinking for hours. I like where your head is at.-thought provolking

such deep dark thoughts probably aren’t meant to ever be discovered or solved, but if you ponder, maybe you will receive an answer.

Wow! … I’m going to have to chew on this for awhile. Provoking piece of philosophy, to be sure. I, too, would like to read the rest of the paper.

I so wish I could read whatever comes next! You have handled the almost stream of consciousness style so well – it really drew me into your (rather surreal!) world.

Wonderfully expressed with a nice flow.TX

I’m in agreement with the rest. You’ve wet my appetite. Loved the way the thoughts just flowed from one question to another.

I think I have written all of that in twenty different ways myself. Off that edge, you’re not alone. Show me more.
