Suppose you were God- hypothetically, of course. What were you thinking? It must have been fun, defining reality, unbound by forever and never. Was it irresponsible of you? Were you just rebelling against nothing? Are we still supposed to call you God, then?
Suppose you and I fell into Wonderland. Suppose we caught the rabbit and cut off his head. Suppose I told your fortune with a deck of soldiers. Suppose we changed the rules. Suppose we knew the rules.
Suppose the world ended just at the horizon. Suppose we didn’t have to listen to the fighting and the crying downstairs, or worry about yesterday or tomorrow, or feel the cold chipping away at us, shaking our bones. Suppose, if we wanted, we could just walk off the edge and fall forever…
