An Invitation to Come to The Table

You are invited to join me, if you will.

If I set the table,

Will you join me for awhile?

Will you bring dessert?

Will you share the essence

Of your very being?

If I set the table,

Will you be able to see,

Beyond the distance,

Which has been created,

Between you and me?

If I set the table,

Will I look up and see,

That you are sitting here,

Right in front of me?

So though it is hard,

For the two of us,

Please do know that,

You are welcome to come.

For the table will be set,

For the present, for the future.

For you and especially for me.
