A dirge to a dead mother.

While towering and soaring high,
Mama grew so tall in kindness,
Mama grew so tall in meekness,
Mama’s virtues among men rose high.

As a finely matured towering stock,
Our Gem gave rise to wonderful flock.
With much love did she care for them,
With much concern did she look after them.

Oh! Death why has thou come between us?
Oh! Death why has thou snatched Mama from us?
You are unfair in threating this blow to us.
You miscalculated to deal this way with us.
You would have, to us, left Mama.
We derive much from the presence of Mama

Who ‘ll fill  the vacuum created by her demise?
Who ‘ll love us as she had always done?
Who ‘ll be there when we desire maternal warmth?
Our hearts are laddened with much sorrow
Our minds are enthralled with deep loss
Death has fed us bitterness for food,
My being is encased there with you Mama
I must pause until it comes back to me.

Adieu Mama, Farewell as we hope to meet you
In the Land of the Living where we cannot be separated again.
