Come closer this tall dark handsome man said,

lets find a quiet corner so we can talk privately.

Maybe if things work out we can leave this party,

my place is very close by and we can relax there.

I looked at this stranger with a mix of emotions,

my mind told me that things didn’t add up here.

The dark grey suit and cape fit him to perfection,

but a part of me thought it should have been black.

Come closer his dark brown eyes beckoned to me,

the wide smile he had held a hint of deception to.

The hand he held out to me had a perfect manicure,

come closer to me so we don’t hear the loud crowd.

I looked at my solid reflection in the bevelled mirror,

my blue eyes had a guarded look that well showed.

But when I go to search for my dark companion as

well,

his reflection was nowhere to be seen in the mirror.

We can go to my castle and spend quality time together,

I can promise you an evening you wont forget for eternity.

Love on the dark side has an unusual side effect you know,

once we make love you will never be the same again my

dear.

But still I hesitated to take the tall strangers hand,

for I suspected that his darker side was very lethal.

Once I crossed over  it would be way to late for me,

there would be no way to find my way back to the light.

He said I will make you my queen for all of eternity,

travel by my side as the future centuries pass us by.

Your current beauty will never fade as you grow old,

my large band of followers will worship you faithfully.

All you have to do is take my hand and trust me now,

leave this crowded party and come to my dark home.

Let me seduce you as only a lord of the dark can do,

you will be my only queen after one bite on the neck.

But I did not take the tall handsome strangers hand,

for I did not want to be a creature of the night at all.

Never growing old as the future centuries pass by us,

doesn’t want to be worshiped by his followers either.

I said thank you but I will have to decline your offer,

your lack of reflection in the mirror told me everything.

You are Count Dracula trying to take my life from me,

I wont be the lovely lady you seduce,bite and transform.

Dracula said you are right and I am exactly whom you say,

I bid you good night and will search for my eternal queen.

My eyes grew large as Dracula transformed into a huge bat,

before my eyes Dracula was gone before I could even blink.

Thinking I had to much to drink I left the party and went

home,

but this mysterious encounter stayed in my mind awhile.

If this man was the legendary Count Dracula of centuries

ago,

I could only hope that he never found the queen he sought.
