This is another love poem I wrote. It is an English sonnet with no particular meter. I always try to keep it heartfelt and romantic. I often write them to play on the heartstrings of a girlfriend.

I feel my love has won whenever it has been tried
In my heart I have made a great void for you and then
A consuming feeling of joy when occupied
Yet, overbearing disdain for life when left open

One’s own true love cannot simply be bought; it must give itself
This above all else I know and hold to be ever true
Your breath is still more than I can assume as wealth
Yet, I would willingly trade my time, my liberty, and my soul for you

To you, my queen, all my possible affections I give
For you knew we’re meant for each other since first we kissed
And without your love, one cannot say that I live
Not love, not laugh, not truly live…I would only exist

This poem attests what this, my inured heart bears
The very heart that could write affections spanning miles
I would suffer a thousand scorns, a million snares
For the utmost pleasure, the slight instance to see your smiles

But the void I speak of can be there not if the heart be in twain
For I would much rather die than sooner cause you pain
