Poem about a man who was just laid off.
Worked real hard,
Played by the rules,
Where did it get me?
I’m just like so many fools.
Got the note,
Said see me at noon,
Felt like I was being sent off
Like a high flying balloon.
Boss said I’m sorry,
But we are downsizing at once.
I was sent packing
Just after lunch.
Now I’m part of the unemployed
With bills to be paid.
I’m very annoyed.
Hey, Congress I want you to hear my plea.
Anyone can lose their job.
It just happened to me.
