I just became an year older
Guts steer me to be bolder
The year has become but a second
All those hurdles, some soft others tough for me to respond
Has been but a great teacher.
I just became an year older
Guts steer me to be bolder
The year has become but a second
All those hurdles, some soft others tough for me to respond
Has been but a great teacher
To guide me all these far
I have learnt to guard my dreams
Or reserve them to my intimates
Lest the antenated-ears of the bile tongued
Brushes through to leave them as dead I`ve learned from listening to my inner self
That happiness is about my surrounding,
And that joy is but an internal feeling from inside
I`ve determined also that be it being happy or jovy
It’s all but a matter of my decisions…what I decide to be
Jovial or melancholic are products of mine perspective and desire
I`ve learnt to be ecstaticly anticipatory
Of all that life bring-its ups and downs
But always to remember saying “thank you God”
And in my own philosophy
I`ve understand that some situations may never better off
But despite the fore goings, and ongoings
I `ve known what attitude and perspective
Can do to me, me the younger son of God
Yes, through them:
I can either succumb, survive or thrive.
And that humility is not self degrading
But a virtue of others considering, others uplifting
I`ve learnt the luscious song of having friends
Who have motivated me through all trends
I`ve shuddered at the feeling of seeing friendship betrayed
Friendship-turn-enmity, this to treat with indifference I’ve learnt
Some friends exceed kin this been something important
I`ve learnt to embrace enemies and they will be friends
That I should, as well, laud my friends and they`ll be brothers
Though I’ve not fully mastered the art of giving, I’ve learnt
To give because much I have not
But because I`ve known the feeling of having not
Naïve and innocence I’ve outgrown as I added years
