A short poem about what Hermes had to do with Persephone when she was with Hades.
Poem - Hermes
“Hi little earthlings, I’m the great Hermes God of travel, messengers and thieves.
Zeus called me again (he’s always calling me so I got the habit).
This time, guess what my mission is, Zeus’ daughter, Persephone, got caught by Hades.
He is planning to make her his queen.
Demeter said that no plants will bear while Zeus doesn’t do anything.
Why can’t the humans learn to live without the gods?
Anyways, Zeus is sending me to go get Persephone from the underworld.
Demeter offered me to ride on her white horse offered by Poseidon.
She doesn’t think that my shoes go fast enough!!
So I ride on the wings of the wind to get as quickly as possible to the underworld.
I meet the Furies, coming down.
They chased me into the castle.
I shouted my cry.
Persephone and Hades came rushing.
I told Hades.
“Yo ho Hades, Zeus ordered me to bring Persephone back.”
I took off with Persephone under my arm.
Then I saw a little spirit that had no eyelids, with half eaten pomegranate in his hands rushing to Hades
Then I thought about the worst so I went twice as fast as I normally did.
The only problem being the time, I gave Persephone back to Demeter; Hades had already talked to Zeus.”
