This poem is all about life, in general. Our ramblings, hurts, hopes and dreams. It is also about being strong amidst life’s perplexities. No matter how life gets hard at times and no matter how many mistakes we have committed, we still have a chance of starting over. Let us have a fresh new start. Let our hearts be resilient. Live and breathe anew!
ANEW
By Ezra Mendoza
Do you want to say goodbye?
Farewell to your far- fetched dreams
Fears and twisted opinions
Heartaches
Tossed wishes
But oh why, could they be fixed?
Will the broken be restored?
The aches would not anymore be painful
How about the twisted words?
May they be straightened?
We wish, we long, we hope
But then, we fear and shed a tear
Hope, faith, love. . .all we love
But do we get it all together?
Straight paths, there we go
Curves, we hate
Faces, we gaze
Places, we tread at a slow pace
We understand a little
We judge a little more
We desire for great things and ignore the least
Ambitions grapple our thinking
PSYCHE is for grand
And what’s with the mind and the hand?
Mind? Thoughts!
Hands?
Two hands we have
Left and right, do what’s right
But, how about the heart?
Don’t tell me, you forgot
To love and feel
Is your head now smaller than your heel
And that you don’t care of how others feel?
Pause. Think. Change.
It’s not too late
It’s better than just to wait
Kiss your mistakes away
Embrace challenges
Inspire others
Have passion
Live and breathe anew!
