Poem dedicated to all those who have lost a child.

Angela, how cute your smile,
you warm my heart so much;
I remember your first day of school;
How you cried, for me to stay with you.

Angela, how we fought,
over things that now look so petty;
The teenage years forged you well,
for now you are a woman,
strong and beautiful,
with your mother’s eyes.

Angela, the light in my eyes;
You have gained success by doing
all you were taught, and going that
extra mile. I must tell you “I love you”, and
“thank you” for all happiness shared.

But now Angela, as I stand by your bedside,
sickness as taken your health;
But it can never take the love we share;
Close your eyes, and please do not worry,
for you are loved by God.

You may be sick on earth,
but you’ll be well in heaven;
Rest my Angela, rest.
