A poem about the treatment of animals.

Animal Welfare Discoveries

Incarcerated with no kindness,

A horribly treated hound

Lies with disease and fleas.

Hope recedes for the poor Pekinese

Suffering from seizures

And renal failure after torture.

Another stall:

A pony with only one eye

And a flesh-stripped body

Maltreated by his master.

“If the tale of the Ark had been true,”

Mused the officer as he perused

His motley stock,

“Then once the deluge began to drop,

I think it would have been the people

That I would have left on the dock!”
