Prompt #83 is write a poem about social injustice. Sixth poem in my 100 poems in 100 day series. Not the poem I thought I’d write about the subject, but it’s what came to me and I’m becoming rather attached to it; I might submit it to Concise Delights, a journal of short poetry.

(Poem inspired by Animal Cops Detriot.  Many thanks to the Cruelty Invistigators of the Michigan Human Society)

Case of embedded collar angers me
creating raised, garnet welts that range
from neck to midsection.
Rendering petty, yellow dog
fearful nippy, unfit for re-homing.

Why did i enjoy such an awful picture. Was it impertinent of me to visualize author with welts on midsection.
