In the darkness, past and present
Of man’s ignorance untold,
Breeds a virus so unpleasant,
It has never left its hold….

Poem:

In the darkness, past and present

Of man’s ignorance untold,

Breeds a virus so unpleasant,

It has never left its hold

On the elements of fairness

And enlightenment that show

Avenues of true awareness

That keep broadening more and more.

Yet the darkness leaves a mystery

Down the centuries long past,

That the smudges of man’s history

Do not seem to fade as fast.

Hatred, prejudice and  fear

Keep on clinging here and there,

Causeless, senseless and unclear.

Yet occurring everywhere.

It behooves us to instill it

That we are created free,

Equal in our flesh and spirit.

Born to live with liberty.
