Our parents use us to correct their mistakes

Our teachers use us so they can feel important

The government uses us to get what they want

And the bankers use us to fill their pockets.

No one wants us asking questions

Or raising doubts about the system

They withhold information that could cause change

But sometimes this is what we need.

There has to be a reason for what we do

We all need to feel we have a purpose

Sometimes what is wrong can be right

And sometimes what is right can be wrong.

The systems we have had never worked

That is just what they want you to think

Never have we been without war and hunger

And the strong have always preyed on the weak.

The only difference is the definition

Being strong is no longer physical

But who has the money

Is who has the power.

But money and power aren’t real

They are just an illusion

They can be taken away in an instant

No one can live forever.

So start forming your own opinions

Find something that you believe in

Crack open a book

And lets start moving forward.
