A response poem on a drunk driver that killed a mothers daughter.
There was a time when my name was mom
Now I sit here writing this to you knowing my baby is gone
I know who you are, but you probably don’t know about me
It was on the night that you killed someone dear
A person who meant the world to me
She was a mere child in many people’s eyes
And now all people see are the cries
The lies, the hatred in peoples minds
Of one man that did this to her
The man that’s reading this
The man who put her under the floor
Her dear friends miss her
Her relatives cant forgive ya’
You are the reason for all life’s sins
Maybe if you didn’t drink your mind would be cleansed
All I hope is many feelings of guilt are rising in your soul
The pain you caused to me is the life that you stole
I don’t wish this upon anyone to bear
Forgive and forget is the only trail
My heart cant take it, at this point im frail
So I leave you with this anonymity
Don’t drink and drive it’s a great, great pity
