An original poem by Aubrey Lambach.

The stage lights flood your face;

A smile lights your eyes.

You’re at home centerstage,

Pain can’t find you anymore.

You’ve said your lines,

And played your part.

Applause

Rings in your ears.

But what is a role

A phrase

A line

Without someone to say it for?

The beauty of lyrics,

Of lines,

Of stanzas

Are that they transcend the test of time.

They conquer

Distance

They bridge

Souls

They erase every fear.

You’re not alone

No matter how far apart

You feel.

Lonely is just

Another empty line.
