An inspirational poem about how anything in life is possible,you just have to believe to achieve as the saying goes…

My life seemed to be spiraling out of control
Down a three tier ladder
With not even a cent to pay the toll

Lying there with my face in a gutter
I wasn’t like those rich men
Hands on a putter

I was trapped like a bird in a cage
Chirping to be set free
Endlessly searching
For how this came to be

I had nothing
The only thing I could do was write
I kept a journal
Always keeping it in sight

Just a roof over my head was all I needed
I prayed for Gods help
And I succeeded

Inspired by this small miracle
I began to write
About the runaways on the street
About the dangers they were in at night

One of many
The first book written
Having it published
Left me smitten

All things are possible
The bird was set free
Recently I bought a homeless shelter
A big house by the sea

The image in the mirror
Yes that’s still me
Just a whole lot different now
But I will never forget
How it came to be

Well written piece. Great inspiring story of a rags to riches scenerio, and for them to pay it forward in order to help those in the same gutter is refreshing at best. Well done friend.
