An everlasting…love that became ever ending. I wrote this piece once I got over my writers block. I don’t want to write much about it. I’ll let the poem do the talking.
I hope you all enjoy!

EVERLASTING…

24th of September 1985,

That’s the date it was pressed in,
A withered book, dusty, used, torn with a new cover on top
Boldly entitled, ‘EVERLASTING…’,
Already turned briefly reading the back cover
Story sounded so promising, a tale of a fairytale love.

Usually my soul jumps with dismay,
When new feelings are displayed,
But captured by ever word on the first page,
Would have to impair my vision to stop me reading now.

Not a judgment by its replaced cover or fifty page size,
The book got longer the more I read in side,
I think I understand its cold concept,
It’s secrets that lies within,
An everlasting, LOVE!

That I loved more with every inked statement that permanently stained my fingers,
That I loved more with every page turning of events,
Hanging off the edge of anticipation, of dying admiration, of
What’s now? What’s new? What’s next?

To good to be true,
I started skipping chapters,
A school boy error,
Missing out major factors,

Causing me to slip off the slopes on instability,
Here by find my soul tainted by lack of clarity,
My devotion now replaced by feelings of illusion,
This plots only dotting towards a tragic conclusion.

So I, flickered through to find the final act to a theatrical stage,
Statement reads, ‘relationship in need dying change’,
Last words end this book with, ‘we’ll go our separate ways…’
I had to stop reading it ends in nothing but blank pages.

Now I’m blank with no tale to tell
This story is now untold, so I’ll turn back the pages…

To Be Continued…
