I watch my country getting plundered and cower down in the corner of my closed room and weep…
An average man born of your prodigious
And yet unassuming and humble womb
Toiling away in your cocooned recesses
Eating the blood away from your breasts
I, unashamed of my insignificance and
Afraid and quiet for the fear of losing the little trinkets
That I have collected throughout my sorry life
Yet you, Forgiving my indifference and diffidence towards you
You, providing my needs with strained aplomb
Wearing that smile amongst a ticking bomb
Covering the stains of your molested sanctity
And me sanctimonious in my hypocritical pretended silence
Reap (loot) away awards and a fortitude
Yet you, forgiving my mute acquiescence
Acquiescence to the systematic plunder of your holies
The blood of your sons and the rape of your daughters
The massacre of the classes and the tyranny of your rulers
Down all those white centuries and the brown decades
All your auctioned mothers and decadent fathers
Yet you, forgiving my lecherous silence
Have you lost your voice, your call and your beckon
Or have you simply lost the desire to live on
Have you oh mother, sold your soul to the satan
Or do you simply dread the charlatan
Or still, do you see me frivolous and unworthy
And yet again, forgive my naked listlessness
