Why do we link the term “corruption” only to politics? Isn’t corruption state of Mind? A state in which the ability of your Mind to think rationally and logically gets corrupted. A state in which the ability of an individual to think about his “long-term” happiness gets destroyed. And he enters a state in which all he runs after is short-term bliss. Here’s a poem to understand what it means to get your Mind corrupted by people who do it with the intention to rule over you.
You think you spot a shadow, slouched and dark,
But you see his face brightened with your gaze
The larger the mob, the safer he feels,
As he attracts each soul with his magnetic ways
He chants the mantras of peace and harmony,
He hums to the music of the liberated and free,
He talks of rising above all, and of glory and fame,
You follow his voice like pawns of his favorite game
He sympathizes with the inferior, abuses the rich,
He professes his monopoly over the true and right,
He enters your mind as you grant him a silent sanction,
Fearing that you’d be an outcast to question his intention
He preys on your soul, and feeds out of your mind,
The wealthy look up to him, for he is the wealthiest of all,
He has the power to rule, and his victims surrender blissfully,
And he knows that he has corrupted you, and your choice to set yourself free.
