Around the Campfire

Making precious memories together.

Around the campfire we are sitting,

Roasting hot dogs and marshmallows.

Outdoors the sky has turned starry,

Up above a full moon shines bright.

Night creatures are on the prowl,

Darkness has engulfed the forest.

Telling ghost stories by the campfire,

Happy to be out in the wilderness,

Enjoying our special time together.

Crickets are chirping in the distance,

A lone wolf howls from far away.

Memories we are making here tonight,

Precious ones that will last forever.

Fire is beginning to die down now,

I am ready to sleep beneath the stars.

Rising very early the next morning,

Eager to face the brand new dawn.

Although we live in a common camping area, we are not much for camping ourselves, but you can sure smell people who have been around the campfire!

i really enjoyed reading this poem. the imagery is beautiful and as it’s read, the poem comes alive and the reader actually feels they are inside the forest. everyone can relate to this. brilliant work.
