The extrovert hides hollow introversion.
Art at war with itself By: Cory Leeper
Beware the Impulsive visionary:
Instantaneous American individualism,
Made ultrasonically palatable,
When catered to the masses.
He steps onto a 1 foot stage surrounded by
The Millions
Echoes of the crowd reabsorb into the artist’s
Loose ways
Singing the same words on different days.
By the end of the show,
Misconceived oblivion haunts him,
The pacifier has lost his ready,
Withdrawn, weary, and abduct,
He retreats into a coach bus,
He tries to shut his eyes for luck.
If you’re looking for a speak-easy,
There’s always a rock show tease,
With drums of lead,
A trembled bass,
A muddled acoustic,
And some lyrics,
All strumming forth from an artist’s auto-tuned voice.
